Ignition switch

I"m running down electrical bugs on a H, about a 1946. The ignition push-pull switch doesn"t "snap" into the on or off position. It sort of "oozes" in and out with enough drag to keep in in position. Is this normal with a switch of that vintage? If so, was there a reason for it? Thanks muchly!!

Thats pretty much normal. Their a simple slide switch. You might try working a little electrical contact cleaner in past the stem, work the switch a dozen times, then blow compreseed air in beside the stem to flush out any dirt.

Had one on my M that kind of worked the same way. Sometimes I had to pull it out and push it back in 2 or 3 times before contact was made. I replaced it with an aftermarket switch, and now it works the first time, every time.
