Hey Redjack
What mkirsch says and MORE. I have a 656 and 666 so I went out and did some looking and measuring.
First off, the hood is 4 inches longer on the '66
Frame rails are different because the '56 uses a steel rear plate and the "66 uses a cast one about 1.5 inches thick.
Radiator is different, bottom hose on right side and much bigger than the '56.
Basically you need a complete 666 from the clutch forward. Front axle and seeering from the '56 should work.
But man an those D312s sure are nice.
