What is the rod called and is it supposed to be shaped like this? It looks like someone used it to brand calves for the running w ranch. Is this an indication that the governor may have issues?
Thanks
Nate
PS
I'm still sourcing parts for this to get it put back together.

What or where is fastened to? Is it a tube or solid rod ? I have picture of that side of engine and see nothing like that.

Number 17 in the picture. They bent it to make it shorter because of wear or play in the rest of the system.

It goes from the throttle linkage (I cant see up under much) forward to the governor control lever

Defintley supposed to be straight, looks like a farmer quick fix job to get more RPM's or because the linkage is shot, and they didnt want to fix it right ,good luck on the engine too, looks like your goin to need it

Looks like the throttle rod from the shaft and levers in the center support frame work behind the engine to the governor operating lever. Probably bent to make it shorter. Should be straight, probably a problem with the linkage up to that rod. Plenty of pins and linkage parts from the throttle lever to there that can give a problem on a well used 100 series tractor.

That looks like it may be a fuel line that got scared and turned around to go the other way. The governor-carburetor connection is in the tube directly behind the outer joint of your thumb in the photo and appears to be attached in the normal way.
