International 966 TA Not Working

So I replaced the power steering pump on the neighbors 966 and put it all back together and now his TA doesnt work. When I removed the pumps housing I looked for the Small Check valve that the manual talks about but didnt see it or it fell out and didnt notice. Does that check valve regulate the TA? There also was a small leak after puting it all back together so we got a new gasket as well as the check valve to put back in. Hopefully the check valve solves the problem, but if it is something else other then that what could it be? After replacing the pump and puting it all back together she worked fine other than the TA.

Thanks for the help!

the check valve just lets oil in to the steering system incase of a dead engine so that you can at least attempt to steer if needed, sounds like you need to get a couple of pressure gauges and test ta lube pressure and the clutch pressures for the ta sounds like there could be a blown gasket or oring, maybe go thru the whole valve checking springs and orings

From whaty i am seeing and that is not much in the pour picture is that if you did not see a little spring and a nylon check valve that looks like a mushroom with a handle on it in the lower right hand corner what i am seeing here is a sump check plug where the hole for the check valve is suppose to be . and did you replace the O/Ring on the lower left along with a new gskt?? . Is there a blowen gskt between the plates on the MCV or blowen O/Ring in there ? I have no idea what you had before and setting here trying to second guess as what is wrong makes it hard to try and tell you where your problem is. And NO i am not making a service call out that far.

Guesses are just that so here goes. First off it kind of looks like the check valve has been eleminated as is often done but not recommended. It is directly connected to the regulated circuit so if it is missing and not plugged you will have no TA. I wonder if you didn't loosen a few too many bolts when you replaced the pump and allowed the gaskets and o-rings in between the plates shift and now are blown out. I would sure put a gauge on it as that will tell you what you have, but not what is wrong.
