my hyd. worked fine. noticed i had a small leak. tore down. matched a o-ring up at work. (a little thicker) put back together. and now no hyd.. the o- ring i replaced wad the pump body seal. please help!

It's either one of two things:

1. You lost the prime on your hydraulic pump. It should come back if you cycle the hydraulics several times with the fill plug removed. If that doesn't work, pressurize the block through the fill hole with an air compressor.

2. You put it back together incorrectly. How, I don't know. Could be the too-thick o-ring. Could be you put something else in turned 90 degrees, or flipped over, or, or, or...

Firsst i would take the filler plug out loosen carefully as there mite be pressure in the system. Does your pump have the screw in the body as you can prime the pump there. If the res is full it should help to prime it.

yes the new o-ring was larger than the old one but i was assumeing that it was just a pump body seal. im not sure how that could disrupt the hyd.. now there is like a bleed screw on the pump it self. can i add oil to that to help prime the pump. and ill try the air compressor thing after work tonight. thanks guys! keep the ideas coming
