Old carb for H

I am looking for an old carb for an H to use on my fuel injection project. It does not need to work. I am only going to use the throttle plate in it and mount a TPS on it. I believe it will be easier this way.

I have an Farmall H carburetor that was used as a LP conversion. It is not rebuild-able for gas use, but could work for your needs. It will be this weekend before I can send you pics. If interested, ten dollars plus actual shipping.

This as per the catalog it is a nnalert one and they say core for the H carb is $175. Crazy number but figure they most be hard to come by if they give that for a core. Guess I should call and ask them if they buy cores for that type of price. Had a guy from this site will not say who that offered me $35 and that was to include shipping and I told him NO

Old, I've never paid more than $50 for a rebuildable H or M carburetor core, and I've bought a BUNCH of them. I've also bought quite a few for $35 and under. They are NOT rare or hard to find.

I know they can not be rare or hard to find but then on the other hand then why such a high core for them?? I have 4 on the place but 3 are on tractors that ran when I parked them but have no need for the tractor but also find the Hs do do sell well

I don't know which source you are getting your info from, but you need to do more research. I recieved a Farmall M carb core in the mail just today. It came from a gentleman who purchased a fully rebuilt carburetor from me just recently. I paid $50 for that core, and it will be an easy rebuilder.

This info is in good old black and white in the Farm&country catalog which was nnalert and it list the core as $175 for an H carb.
Also it should have read that I have found selling an H is hard to do since I have had 3 for sale for years now and all under $1000. I can only research as far as the books I have to do so and as I said it is in there catalog. Not saying that is what I will or would sell it for just using it as a reference.

Valu built has H carbs for sale for 430 dollars. They will credit you $175 for your core if you buy their carb, which brings the prive down to $255.They will not buy just a core at any price.
You should rebuild and restore that old carb, then sell it for $175 with a 60 day warantee.

i have sold several H carbs and bought one, most have sold $50-60 and the one I bought was $75. These were all in at least somewhat usable condition.

By the way David disregard what the others are saying to me they are not reading it as it says. Note the word (CRAZY) meaning I think that price is not right but if you read the whole thing which you can not unless you have the catalog I have and they can not either with out it. If you buy a carb from them it is $252.95 or some such so once you turn your core back in that comes out to $77.00 or so for a rebuilt carb. As I said they jump in but do not read it as I meant it to say and I hope you also understand the term CRAZY they sure did not

Put a high core price on the item and you stand a real good chance of getting the old one back. If you are in the rebuilding business it means you don't have to spend a lot of time coming up with more cores.

The first instrument clusters I had to replace on 2003 GMC medium duty trucks were $1000. That was $300 for the cluster and $700 core. You actually received a new unit but the high core charge insured that the old ones came back so they had some to rebuild.

IH did the same when the first came out with their ReNewed Parts line. You would get the same TA or injection pump whether you bought a new or ReNewed item but the price was different because they wanted the cores back to begin their rebuilding program.

Sorry. just the truth as I spoke to them on the phone a few minutes ago and that is their policy, not Old gossip. Their price is 430 for carb with 175 core credit, period!
I just wanted you to know that the market is for perfect rebuilt H carbs. Up to $300. If you can do that instead of blowing smoke then maybe you can make some money of your own.
