Super C fasthitch check valve

I purchased a Super C for parts, but I might fix it as it seems too good to scrap. Some one has removed the chk. vlv from in front of the seat and run the hyd lines from the control vlv to the cyl. Is this going to be an issue? I know the cost gets a little high for one, and all the other issues that it needs repaired that might be the deciding factor. thanks Gary

I believe that is a pilot operated check valve block that helped keep the load from drifting down. Took everything out of the system except the cylinder itself... if the cylinder leaked by the piston, it would settle anyway. The way they work is when pressure is applied to one side, an internal "pilot" line opened the opposite or return side of the line. Again, if the cylinder had an internal leak, this valve didn't help that.

I know Cessna/Eaton made them at one time and many were used on loader buckets to help stop the bucket from dumping the load as it was being carried. You could find them mounted on a cross-beam behind the bucket of a loader. One of these might work if you can find one.

There's one of those check valves on e-bay now, seen it last night. I think the seller is Marty from Michigan, Wardners old buddy.

No issue.

That block was designed to prevent damage from dropping an implement too fast. I removed mine 2 years ago thinking I would get it repaired or replaced. Never got a round to it.

It will work fine without it.
