Problem is they were ASKING $25,000 but probably won't get half of that. Sounds like she has a distorted sense of reality (in part thanks to the internet and its availability of info)

Hi to all and thank you for comments, Keith Fuller was so kind get some info from all I'll try to answer some questions that I saw on here.
The tractor ran when we moved it off farm, reason if you would like to see web site that caused my husband much stress. We owned the tractor about 40 years. used for hauling, wood, plowing about 6 acrea, & hayrides, taken to 1 tractor pull & won. Never had hard use when we had it & having 6 children they enjoyed it -just to have farm tractor. The web site shows what happened to us. Our farming was in Peat. I can sell it for scrap prices a little more the the lowest price I saw here. Just thought someone out there would want this. I did see a beautiful one just like this(but just one) for $25,00 finished. For anyones interest check out what the American Drean did for us in this great America. www.ofbfdeceit.com

This is the email reply I got from the lady who owns the tractor. She just wanted to thank you guys for your help.

Agreed. You never want to pay a lot for a non-running WD-9. Jim hit it right. A WD-9 can have many expensive surprises before you get it into decent running shape. They are in a bad spot, too many of them around to be rare but not enough of them to have aftermarket suppliers for key engine parts.

Jim said everything I didn't!. I bought a runner for $1100 (IIRC) and I will still have too much into it. There is one on eBay that was one twice for $11k and now twice for $9000 and nobody has touched it. Jim is probably correct at $4500, but I like to tell myself I might be able to get more. I have $2000 in tires in mine and I shopped around A LOT.

Sflem is correct, To assume the tractor is worth more is not going to make it so. Those tractors are interesting, but not in demand. They are brute powerful with a medium poor operator station/comfort. They are not easy to steer, nor do they turn sharp. The engine is probably stuck, and as such will be a radical money pit to get running, let alone make as good as new. Only a few places have usable parts, and only a few have very expensive bearings. It is not a rare tractor. The value (if totally restored with new tires and show ready)might be 4500. The memories of the farm, do not play into the facts. Jim
