Farmall A Wheel Weights

I just bought rear wheel weights for my A. Hope this isn't a dumb question, but what kind of bolts and sizes do I need to put them on my A?

I will be buying fronts too, so same question for those. Thanks!

Front use 1/2" x 2" machine bolts, nuts, lockwashers.
Rear uses 5/8" x 3 1/2" carriage bolts, nuts, lockwashers.

I think I used 5/8 carriage bolts for the rear weights and I couldn't find any long enough so I
had short pieces of allthread welded to the carriage bolts. The square shoulder on the carriage bolt should fit the square hole in the rim to keep the bolt from turning when tightening the nuts. Fastenal may have them.
This was back in 1975 when I restored a Farmall A. I had the weights shot blasted at work to remove any rust. I used an epoxy primer on the weights and over the nuts on the carriage bolts.

so you put the head of the carriage bolt on the inside of the tire then?

(quoted from post at 06:01:04 08/30/12) Oops, the carriage bolt lengths should be 5 3/4" for one side and 6 3/4" for the other side.

Be careful where you get the carriage bolts. The ones from China can be very weak. I have snapped the head off with just a 1/2" ratchet.
