Voltage regulator tutorial ?

Did anyone keep the link to the VR tutorial that explained which coil and set of points does what ?

Grounding the field on my Super C makes it charge again. Either I'm going to figure out how to fix these things or I'm going solid state...

The relay that is normally open [NO] closes when the gen starts to produce more than battery voltage.
The normally closed [NC] relay is supposed to start pulling open when voltage reaches around 6.5 volts.
This is the relay which "grounds" the field. If the regulator base isn't grounded well, the field relay can't send current/ voltage from the generator F terminal to ground.
You might try a little crocus cloth on the field relay contacts to burnish them.

I dont have a Voltage Regulator "Tutorial" but I do have a canned Charging Troubleshooting Procedure.

If it charges ONLY with the Gennys FLD grounded but NOT otherwise:

VR isnt well grounded
VR is bad or mis adjusted
Wires open from FLD on Genny to FLD on VR

If that makes it charge run ti there are tons of them running like that and it doesent make any difference what color the tractor is just seen lots that way.
