when re-installing the new clutch on my M, im supposed to insert the new clutch disk, compress the springs completly using 3 of the 6 presure plate bolts then install the presure plate with the 3 remaining bolts, then remove the bolts holding the springs back in put them in the pressure plate....is that right?Once the clutch is in, do I need to adjust anything? are the fingers on the pressure plate where they need to be? Im so afraid im going to screw something up and have to remove the engine again... thanks, anthony |

| I think I tightened the bolts and then installed the pressure plate. Leave the bolts in the pressure plate until you push the tractor back together. |

| If the engine is installed, and the clutch shaft is through the disk into the pilot bearing yes. If you take the compression bolts out with no shaft in it, the disk will be way out of alignment, and the shaft will not stab through, the disk will bind and possibly bend on the splines. Remove those three bolts after the clutch shaft is installed and tied to the drive yolk. into the trans. Using the shaft to align it ahead of time is OK, but the best is to let it be loose till the engine is fully attached, as that allows the greatest degree of freedom when putting it together. Jim |

| If the clutch alignment tool is used, it is just [placed in the spline hole and into the pilot bearing. I then release the clutch (three bolts) untill I can just move the disk with the alignment tool a tiny amount in any direction withoput it falling. I then move the disk left and right and up and down till I believe i have it centered perfectly using the tool. I then take out the bolts, and put them where they belong. Now you are assured that the disk is centered. leave the tractor in Neutral, and turn on the PTO as you put the engine in have someone rotate the PTO with a Pipe wrench to rotate the clutch shaft till the splines engage.
