Help Identify Plow with Farmall C

The Matt

I wanted to say thanks again for the previous help on identifying my planters. I have since found a manual for the setup of the C-278 that gives some good details on the planters…gives me something to reference when getting things set up.

I want some more help.
I’m trying to identify this plow. My grandfather said it came with the ’53 Farmall C tractor when he bought it in the early 60s, but he has never used it. It may not be usable now, but I would like to know more about it and see if I can bring it back to life.

Any ideas and/or pictures would be of great help.

The Matt,
I believe your plow is a model ' C-151' built 1947-1956.
It is the only disc plow shown in the 'C' attachment parts book and the parts picture looks like your plow.
If you go to caseih.com, search for parts, search plows, hopefully you will find the parts break down.
The brackets to mount the plow to the tractor are not shown in your pictures. Hopefully you have the tractor and the brackets are on it.

good luck
Dennis

I have a plow like that.I might be able to help you with pics of the brackets and steering arm and belly mount drawbar on tractor.Ralph

That would be great.
I would be glad to give you my email address if that would be easier for us to discuss. Just let me know.

Try going to the IH Historical Site. In the search box type 'C-151' and you'll find info on your plow. Earlier info I past on came from my Farmall C attachment parts book.
Let me know if I can help further.

What I am not seeing are the flat rods from the plow beam up to the clutch housing, the flat rod that bolts to the front bolster, and the long round rod from the front bolster to the gage wheel on the rear. My uncle had a plow just like yours but he stopped using it about the time I became interested in how things worked. If the disk will turn, they should be fine, just load them up with grease. I am not sure if this plow needs axel brackets.

Here is a couple of more pictures LMACK. I belive the first one is the rod that connects to the front. I will have to plead ignorance on the others you mentioned. Look forward to learning.

The Matt,
Here is a picture of your C-151 plow and a picture of the framing, probably on the tractor, that is needed to mount it. The bracketry mounts to the bellhousing and torque tube. Also the parts list fot the framing.
The long rod leaning on the tree appears to be the one going to the front end. Not sure how that all works.
Is the tractor in your picture the one it was originally fitted to?

Well last weekend (several years later from the original post), I finally was able to hook up the C-151 and turn some dirt.
My 99 year old grandfather was able to watch so lots of fun to see it come to life.

Yikes! That was a lot of years from the first post. Good on you for getting it back in the field. Even better for the joy I’m sure it gave grandpa. Dave
