Super C Hunting

How do I adjust the throttle linkage on my Super C to keep it from "hunting" which is does pretty bad from time to time. Or, is it a govenor issue, or both? Hunting season doesn"t start until Saturday, and Cmore can"t hit doves anyway..thanks, Cmore

Making sure there is very little wear in the carb to lever rod linkage. It should be free of lost motion. The throttle link on the carb should be wide open and the governor moved to wide open. at that point, the linkage should be an exact length fit between the gov arm, and the throttle arm.
There is a surge dampening adjustment at the governor, but fix the linkage first. Jim

A lot of time hunting or surging is caused by a carb problem and it running on the lean side. You may have some dirt of rust clogging your main jet and that will cause that type of problem and can happen out of the clear blue like you said

On my SC, the carb is out of adjustment when it hunts. I have put a new shaft and bearings in the governor fairly recently.
