i have a ih 300 i am having a problem adjusting the TA . some time in the past someone posted a link/source for a better part to help with this problem . if you know of a source please post it . thanks ... bill

The pins and clevises in the linkage need to have tight running clearance. Little wear is permitted.
Measured, .005 to .008 is OK per pivot.
The clutch pedal should have 1 inch of free travel from fully up, to the point of first pressure (freeplay). as the pedal is pushed farther, the main clutch will fully release (usually about another 1.25" or a little less. At that point the TA clutch should start to disengage. and it should be fully released (again at about 1" further travel). This is the way it should act, it is not the adjustment procedure. Jim

I have had an on going problem with the TA clutch in my 350.

The new pressure plate was coil bound when it was bolted up, i.e. not much use. No amount of adjustment will make it work right. The TA clutch actuator shaft that came with the tractor had been cut and rewelded. An original ( 300 ) shaft works better, but it is still not right.

After this season is over I'm gojng to split the tractor again to see what the problem is. I suspect a bad pressure plate.
