I seen in a post a while back (gitrib's spreader), that you have a Knight 8014 that you run with your 400. Does it handle it ok? I've been eyeballing a Gehl 309 for a while & have been wondering if my 400 could handle it. Would you know if the Knight you have is bigger than a 309? There weren't a lot of Knights in this neighborhood until Kuhn took over, so I really don't know how big an 8014 is.
I'd really like to have the option to haul semi-liquid or liquid manure to my field. It's all the big farms have on tap around here & them horses down at the horse farm apparently don't go that much. Not enough to cover two acres between cuttings, that is. Don't really have any hills to worry about. Just one big one which is down on my loaded return trip. That brings up another question, is there enough tractor to slow it down on a big hill. I'd guess it to be about a 4.5% - 5% grade, depending on where you are on the hill & a 1/4 mile long.
Thanks,
Mike
