Starting to tackle a new harness on my FIL"s 450. I have the instrument panel loose, top to bottom, but there isn"t a lot of room to move it toward the rear of the tractor, so I can get in behind it. Anybody done this who could give me the benefit of their experience? |

| Removing the three bolts that hold the shifter lever to the top of the transmission will give you lot's of room after you get the lever out of the way. |

| I pull the whole lower hood section along with the instrument panel as a lot of the wires run in behind and hydraulic valves. Have to unhook choke cable, tach cable and oil pressure pipe but the temp gauge should have enough slack to pull whole thing back to get at things. The operators manual shows really good diagrams of the wiring, where it should run etc on those old tractors. |

| | Thanks, Pete. That"s what I meant, I have the whole hood loose, but it can"t move far because of the shift lever, and can"t move upwards because of the hydraulic levers. Guess it"s going to be a tight squeeze no matter how I cut it. |
