Mcormick W-30 Radiator to Engine Connection

I am putting our W-30 back together. The engine has been out for a complete teardown, new main bearings, etc. I was told it had not run since sometime in the 1950s. I had a new core installed in the radiator. Now when we set the radiator in the frame the four bolt holes are off that go into the water jacket at the top. The radiator holes are higher than the water jacket holes. They look to be off by 1/8 inch. I had considered putting another gasket under the water jacket or possibly shimming under the front motor mounts. Does anyone have any better ideas? I am out of town and won"t be home until Saturday afternoon.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I wouldn't reccomend shimming the motor mount as you will put the driveline in a bind if you do, Try to do your adjustmenys with the water outlets

this must be due to the rad tanks having thicker new gskts. so a person would have to remove some meat on the lower rad mounts to make up the difference. or yes install another gskt under water jacket.

I second that. The WD-9 manual goes into quite a bit of detail on making sure the driveline is perfectally straight.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did not like the idea of shimming under the front motor mount. I will get another gasket for the water jacket and go from there.

Put the 2.5 inch hose on there and tighten the clamps, they hardly ever line up perfectly

hey Brian, did you drink a little of your bath water lately??? theres no rubber hose connection on the top of the W-30 radiator like on an F-30. W-30 has a 4 bolt flange on the radiator that bolts to the thermostat housing.

most of the W-30's ive taken apart have had a shim under the radiator where it sits on the tabs that are bolted to the chassis tub, id take those out if you have them in there
