while the oil pan is off my 100 c123 what do ineed to check besides oil pump screen and plate warp which is fine thanks to tractormanNC

With the pan off, checking the center main bearing with plastigauge, and the rod bearings as well seems reasonable.. if they are at or less than .003" I would button it up and run it. if larger, I would probably remove the engine and put new lower end bearings in it. The rod bearings can be changed W/O removing the engine, but the rear main cannot. If plastigauging, be sure to hold the weight of the crank upward to prevent its weight from smashing the "noodle" of plastigauge when doing the main/s. Use just enough lift to hold the crank upward. Depending on engine series there are probably no cam bearings. Jim

Yes. Newer tractors with Distillate options are far more rare than older ones. The heads are different, and the components find good homes if sold. Jim

Nope. The valves are a different length, and the casting has larger combustion chambers for less compression, but the remaining parts are all the same. If you change the pistons, use 5000, or 8000 foot High altitude popup pistons (assumes you will run it on gasoline only, Distillate is not found, and Kero or diesel and gasoline mix is just painful to use and dirty.
