| Make sure to add oil to the charge. R12 is ok with R134a as long as there is enough oil to back it up. If the system is dead then go about your way. I cant stress enough about the oil being the key between the to.

| Three and a half pounds of R134A max. You usually figure about 85 percent of what they called for in R12.

| Yes been 134 for a long time. Replacing a hose.
