So close!!!!! I got some pics!

Done with painting. It's not a perfect job but for my first one ever I'm happy with how it turned out. I bought a new tire today to match my other. I need to go buy 15 gallons of 90 wt oil for the rear end then finish putting her together. Thanks for all the help Enjoy the pics.

I told you. It might not be perfect but its good enough for who its for an that person is you. That was my philosophy when I did mine. Nice job. Kippster

Well, I tried to post a response, but the SPAM editor does not like me this morning. Let's leave it at "looking good and keep the pictures coming".

#$%@$# spam filter.

Looks good.

for future reference - a little spot putty and some surfacer could have made all those rust pits on the sheet metal go away without much work.

Not being critical. Depends on what you like.

I know once you put everything together it'll look great just by being all nice and red, and the picky details won't really matter.

I think you're at the worst part of restoring a tractor - soooo close... just a few more things to do..

Any other projects when this one's done?

That's my favorite part! And to everyone else it was pitted really bad. I tried bondo but not on all of it. Some of it my lack of prep work. O well live and learn. She's almost there though.

A good filling primer can go a long way to get rid if some of the rust pitting. spray it on; sand it off and use several coats if you need

I forgot, it looks like you could still sell that other tire to help cover the costs of the new tire. That is a $100 used tire from what I have seen and done for that matter!

I have a hood and nose cone on one of my Hs that are pitted also. Thought my eyes were tricking me at first when I saw yours but you done good for your first one!

How did you prep that tin? Did you sand it down? Did you prime it, and sand the primer? Did you wipe it down with a degreaser? Did you use a tack rag?
You should read some bodywork/ painting books. and or get some help from someone. I think you went backwards there.

That's not true. It is red from the road and it looked like heck before.

I'm going to try and send you an email. WD9er is done with the grill tools and I got them today. I was a little nervous that I may never see them but he must have been busting butt on his tractor. He sent me a picture with his email. Looks good!!!

Your post didn't have your email. I filled mine out in my modern view profile. You should be able to get ahold of me that way.

Wire brush and cleaned it good with simple green. Is it perfect? Far from it. Did I know that it would be like that? Yeah. I know I didn't do an A+ job but it's my tractor and I did it my way. I wasn't going for a pro job. Just a red tractor.

Looking forward to some pictures when its complete.

Now get OFF the tractor discussion board, and get studying!

Yours and all the other old tractors stuck around this long, they'll still be here by the time you're done with school. :)

You dont need fancy paint or a body man.You did good, just need to get a sanding disc for your 3/8 drill and sand smooth with 150 sand paper and use good primer and You would see your reflection in the paint,I DO

Yeah. I just needed to get it done so it was out of my dads way while I'm back at school. I plan to paint them as soon as I get some free time.
