F-20 hand clutch

I would like to put a hand clutch one of my F-20s for my daughter. Hers is a 37 and those clutches are too stiff for my 7 year old. Any info would be helpful or if anyone has one. Thanks.

Isn't 7 kinda small for operating 4000# of equipment on her own?

Suggest you wait a couple years till she can properly. Gear up an old rider for her in the mean time.

She has to have enough strength and reach be able to handle the tractor when she gets into trouble.

Just the Dad coming out in me.

But to your original question, I don't know of a hand clutch.

If you really, really need to have a seven-year-old running a ractor, a John Deere B would be a less-risky choice. I ran one at that age, not evesdry day but for sowing oats and such when dad was close. I know it might be the wrong color for you but the hand clutch can be adjusted to work easily and the foot brakes are a lot closer to the seat.

She does not drive alone I ride while she steers. If you have ever drove a f20 37-39 the clutch is very stiff. I would like her t be able to drive it someday by herself but if I wait till she's strong enough it will not be any time soon. I am hoping she can parade before she's 10. And no John Deere is out of the question. I work on them all the time. They are great for making a profit because they seem to always broke.

Something like a cultivator lever on the rear housing with a cable and a pulley to move the clutch. You would need a latch on it. If it were where you could pull it for her if need be it would be fairly safe. But you need a good safe place to ride where she can't dump you off. A good platform on the drawbar with a railing would work. Some kind of kill switch with a tether on it would be a good idea too.

I also have a 1937 F-20 that has a clutch that is hard to push. Any ideas why?

I am about to pull it apart to see why.

Would a "lever extension" like thsy sell for a H or M solve the problem?

if all she's doing is steering, why does she need to push the clutch in???

if you think a clutch is stiff while pushing with your leg, your gonna have fun with a hand clutch setup

I have had 2 F20 clutches apart. One had double springs and the other had single springs. I removed three inner springs at equal spacing to make the double spring one easier to push.

I don't know of a parade she would be allowed to drive in at 10. A lot require you to be 16 and have a drivers licence
