OK we talked about the seat on my M the other day. After getting some advice on here I tried looking up parts to repair it. Can't seem to find the parts for this seat....

The parts diagram look nothing like this. So do I have a seat off of another IH tractor or maybe after market?

Thanks

Rick

Oldtanker Devons Tractor parts Westfield,IN. phone 888-560-1466 has the new shock and the bolt with rubber bushings for the pivot on the seat. Case- IH dealer should have the rubber bushings for both of them if thats all you need. If you type in Devons Tractor Parts on your computor and go down to seat parts he has pictures of what you will need.

You need parts with these IH numbers or matching aftermarket ones. Rear shock 352587R92. Or if you just want the bushings 250416R1 times 4. For the piviot, One 352648R1 piviot rod, 2 bushings 250416R1, 2 washers 352650R1, Two 1/2 x 1 inch long fine thread bolts that used lock washers originaly.
Shocks can be found this site, Rusty farmall and others. Lots of places sell the piviot bushings, pin and bolts. Don't know if any include the bushing washers though. Think its the 6 inch long piviot pin you need

OK it has a long bolt on the pivot point. Is that supposed to be the 2 bushings and 2 bolts that threat into the bushing?

Thanks

Rick

When you buy the new pivot point bolt with bushings it comes with every thing you need. If you can get after market it will be alot cheaper than going through dealer.

All you need is a couple of good shock absorber
bushings. I never have buy them because whenever I
find some kicking around I save them in a can. If
the bolt is worn replace it.

The piviot pin is threaded on each end and the fine thread bolts screw into it from each side. No long bolt originaly. Trouble with the bolt screwing into both sides is there hard to get apart after time. Someone saws them off to get the seat apart and then don't bother with the same type parts.
Like was said the aftermarket has the pin and parts in one package deal. Notice the original type rear shack used the same rubber bushings the seat piviot does. Some aftermarket shocks have a different bushing or bushings.
