Air Filter change

HI; I have a farmall 450 that I would like to change oil bath air cleaner to a caister type to get better air flow. Any ideas?

Stick with the original oil bath type. Just keep it serviced.

Unless you have heavily modified that engine, the original oil bath will give MORE air flow than the engine needs.

Simple: Shut the engine off.

The oil that is sucked up into the mesh when you start the tractor flows back down into the bottom and washes the dirt into the cup when you shut down.

Change the oil regularly and everything is fine.

Odds are this will probably spark another argument over oil bath vs. paper filter, but your tractor has survived fine with the oil bath for 55 years... That's gotta count for something.

I take off mine when I buy a new tractor and wash them with the hot water pressure washer.

Clean it out your filter is one of the best ever made no reason to change.
