weather cracking of tires

With all of the wonder products on the market (some good, some trash), i can't believe that someone hasn't invented some kind of filler or sealer for weather cracking of tires.
And also I was wondering (yeh I got time for such trivial persuits now that I am retired), at what point is weather cracking a threat to the structural integrity of the tire?

You'd think so, but there's nothing out there. The closest thing you can get is this "tire paint" but it really does nothing other than make the tire look a little better.

The best thing you can do to preserve tires, is keep them out of the UV as much as possible.

I removed a set of heavily worn and weather-cracked tires from a tractor. Goodrich Silvertowns, which I would estimate had been on the tractor since the 1960's. The carcasses were LIKE NEW inside. No signs of fatigue, cracking. Smooth as a baby's butt and clean as a whistle. Even smelled like new rubber.

You can get a LOT of weather checking before the structural integrity is a problem. Run them until you see the cords poking out. Real obvious splits will start to form long before it becomes a problem.

When the weather cracks get big enough to allow the tube to poke through, THAT is a threat. I was fortunate enough to experience that scenario while the tractor was parked in the shed, but I had been using that tractor just the day before to open the road after a snowstorm.

Which tire paint, applied before the tires start cracking, might help to do.
