Worked on this tractor untill dark last night,didnt want to start,found the mag was weak,fixed it and it started.My friend drove it around the yard and everything worked good.I hope we get it to the fair

So how does it handle ? Does it have the iron steering wheel? Looks like fun. One thing about those old steel wheel gals, you could sure plow a straight furrow!
 
Ummmm...somewhere along the way I think you got things backwards. Your friend is supposed to crank "er for you and you get to take the first ride!! HAHAHAHA...Nevermind..great job on getting it running. Are you going to restore it or leave it in it"s working clothes? I like them both ways. Even seen a guy clear-coat over rust to keep it from getting worse!!
 
funny you mentioned clear coating over rust..I have a 1920s vintage hit n miss engine with a lot of the blue paint still on it and original, but faded and cracked Hercules decal on it. Did not want it to get any worse or the paint to get any worse, I clear coated the old girl. My dad scratched his head over that one, but the old engine looks good like that and is still original, the way it came from the factory. I like them both way, all purdied up and also still in their working jeans
