H questions, electrical and brakes.

Two questions. First, I"ve got the headlights from my H torn down. The housings are pitted but OK - the wiring and other little bits of hardware need to be replaced. Any suggestions for a supplier of such little things?

Also ... have brakes torn down and ready to go back together. It"s been more than two years since taking them apart. I have the parts schematic but would prefer to see an image of the brakes that"ll allow me to put the things back together correctly. Any suggestions? How embrassing.

Thanks for the help folks.

If you're talking about the wiring inside the headlight i believe case ih has them along with oem tractor parts. It might be cheaper, and easier in the long run just to buy brand new headlights. I bought a pair on ebay for like $70 and they are very nice.

American Tractor Lights . com has all that stuff, as do many of the common aftermarket parts suppliers like OEM, Steiners, etc.

However, the parts are more expensive than the whole. Price it out.

If all you need is the wiring you can pick up a cheap automotive bulb socket at the local auto parts store for a few $$$, and cannibalize the wire/base/spring assembly from it.

Just contact the good people here who manage this website. I ordered 2 lights from them at 1/2 the cost of OEM and they arrived within days already primed. It"s like shopping locally.

Just be careful. There are exact original reproductions, and then there are the imported copies. The imported copies are less pricey, but they are NOT an authentic reproduction, and the various components will NOT interchange with the originals.

If your basic goal is to have lights that work, the imported variety will fill the bill very nicely.

Just FYI, I rebuilt my lights for my H and never could get them grounded correct, through the rusty old light bar and steering post. I finally drilled a small hole in the bottom of each light housing, hose-clamped a very small hose clamp onto each light bulb socket, and ran a green ground wire from there down to (I think) the correct battery post. Works like a champ.
