I am having problems with the brakes. Got new bands one side good the other will not ajust up. Band appears to be longer. My question is how long should the band be (eye to eye around the outside) if some one could help it would be greatly appreiciated.

Brad

The bands you took out should be the correct length around the outside. Odds are they've been in there since long before parts were being made in China.

The new band that works may not be the correct length but it is close enough...

It is fairly common for replacement bands to be too long. I can't tell you how long they are supposed to be, but I would guess you will find it with some searching on YT or Google.

I see the actuators are different. HOWEVER, when I took my WD-9 apart they looked the same so I cleaned them in the parts cleaner and mixed them up. How can I figure out which belongs to which side?

Sorry I'm so slow getting back. Thank you. The actuators appered to be correct but between the old bands and the new ones I have 3 different lengths I would like to find a measrement before I drive 30 miles again to fix the problem. Again thank you for your help.

Stack the new band on top of the old band, drop a couple of bolts through the eyes of both bands and then compare how the circumference of the new band lines up with the old band. I think you will find there is very little, if any, difference.

You may have the actuating cam installed wrong, or maybe the cams have been reversed from left to right, and yes, there is a right and a left.
