firing order for farmallsupera

1342From the radiator back. It is cast into the block, but it appears from back to front (we read left to right, and they put it on the right side. (I think it was considered common knowledge that they were front to back. Jim

Its supposed to be at the 1 o'clock position on the cap But DEPENDING on who as played with the dist #1 wire could be at any of the four places on the cap all depends on where they had the rotor when they removed it. I have found over the yrs on the dist someone has #1 all over thats when i take a long look. Ive got one now #1 is at the 11 o'clock position on the cap.

Bring No1 piston near the radiator to TDC on the compression stroke after removing the sparkplug. Hold a thumb over the plug hole while a helper slowly cranks over the engine until you feel pressure. Then drop a long plastic straw on top of the piston and then you watch the straw rise while the helper slowly cranks until the straw quits rising. Then remove the the cap off the distributor and look to see where your rotor is pointing. If the distrbutor hasn't been removed your rotor should be at your No1 plug. It should be in the one o'clock area. Then your plug wires are in this firing order on your cap. Hal
2-1
4-3 As the rotor rotates clockwise.

You can SEE when the piston comes up on TDC in a C113 engine, just by shining a light down the #1 spark plug hole.

Use the thumb method to find the compression stroke, then simply watch the piston come up to TDC.
