I have a neighbor that just sold the farm and is moving to town. He has this Farmall C that can't make the ride. $750 takes it. He says it runs, but hasn't run in a long time. I want the wide front end, the rest of it is parts/resale.

Notice the sickle. That comes with the machine.

One good rear tire, all the others are junk.

is this a good buy or not at $750?

"Hasn't run in a long time". Huge red flag in my book. See if the engine can turn first of all. If I had room, $500 at best if the engine was loose. $250 for stuck with just planning to sell the usable parts, junk the rest.

If you decide you don't want it, let me know. I've been lookin for a wide front Super C. Don't mind a project. I'm a couple hours north of you.

Well worth it! I'd have that front end that causes ya to need 3 football fields to turn what is other wise one of the handiest turning tractors ever made around off 1st, then I'd due some tuning up!

$250 isn't going to touch that! I was at a auction this spring with a Farmall C with wide front, and front and rear wheels weights. This tractor was sitting for nearly twenty years outside. It brought $575. Don't suggest to someone to offer below scrap price.

As I always post, location has a lot to do with price, but let's break this one down in Western Pa. Belly mount sickle bar mower: $250 +/-. Wide front end: $250-$300. Has Ball jar air cleaner $50. So, without looking at any parts or goodies on it (like decent looking grille, etc.) you are at $550 - $600. There appears to be a hydraulic system on it, complete. Another $200 +/-.

From my chair, $750 is a decent price if all you want is the WFE. You'll get your money back and break even for your investment on the rest of the parts. Heck, I would be interested in the mower depending upon where this is located.

Heck, if the engine turns over it'll probably run with a little bit of work and a few inexpensive parts.

You could take the WFE off, put your NFE on, get it running, and put it by the side of the road for $1000. Let the buyer talk you down to $750-800 and you're only down the gas money to haul it home.

Personally I'd have bought it the minute he said 750.

Even if you change your mind and don't really want it - you could make your money back pretty quickly.

Get it before he changes his mind or sells it to soembody else!

She is a beauty! They always say things bring more money in CA and this certainly is an example of that. It would bring about $350 for scrap in Pa and that is what I would give for it.

Thanks guys. I went ahead and bought it today.

The owner was the origional purchaser in 1954, and he has the origional owners manual and parts book for it as well!
