That tractor was offered on eBay four/five years ago. It went to around $20,000 but didn't meet the reserve. I think the bidding was phoney. It is located in TX. Check out the innovative trailer. Oh yeah, it is self propelled with something like a built-in chainsaw engine.

i remember a discussion a while back on it, it had some kind of way of driving the tractor, either like wardner said with a chain saw engine, or some kind of battery and electric motor. cant quite remember how they did it.

Down here in central Texas, I saw what I call a JDMHBBQ. It's a Massey Harris 44 with a BBQ unit instead of and engine... could also be a smoker, but it's painted with JD colors.. Lawn ornament sitting in front of a tire dealer.

Mrs. Red said I should do that with the M next to my garage and make a fortune as a grill. I said "yeah right", LOL!

It is kind of neat but also kind of sad to see that good ol' American engineering turned into a smoker/grill. Not sure if I would waste a perfectly good tractor on something like that. Definitely unique.

Maybe they should have wasted an old John Deere. Haha

You can see the power unit exhaust pipe topped with a red rain cap in the first two pictures of this thread. It also has a disc brake on the left wheel, maybe both wheels. You can see the hoses or cables clearly.

I have yet to see a shot from the rear. Perhaps the original poster can tell us where he copied the picture.

The auction action had several large bids in the $5000-$10,000 range. They were immediately met with covering bids.

True, kinda neat but kinda sad too, but hey, there a guy on the ZN board just restored one and is sending it to the Starvin Marvins in Africa...at least some day some guy can say to his Grandkids, "Ya see that smoker, that used to be what tractors looked like when our Presidents were actually American and turned us into the land of Prius and Volts!"

I agree 100%. I was buying some parts from a guy a while ago for a tractor I was working on. He was showing me pictures of shipping crates he sends over seas full of tractors. I almost puked on him. I was then done dealing with him and told him I wouldn't buy from him. He was selling our American heritage to foreign countries. SCREW PEOPLE like him.

Not any better than the politicans in the White House.
