Tonight, we got fenders on & painter was there doing touch up. This has yet to go outside in the sunlight....

Check out the mesh for the front grill... oh man, stainless w/chrome plating.

Check out these hoods, he worked them over tonight they are amazing.

Pickup up my sister's daughter Audrey (she's 9) and without noticing she was up in the seat, so cool!

ROT ROH...looks like that lil girl has just stolen your tractor !!!
That smile gives it away big time !!

Best part I was talking to the guys, next thing I knew she jumped right up there with HUGE smile. It was great, Dad would be proud!

I have really enjoyed watching your progress on the 560. I spent a good deal of time on a WFE 560D in the early 70's. First diesel tractor I got to run. Really would not mine having one.

Not that you have learned how to do it.....when ya gonna start on my 1206?????

Gotta have it ready for spring field work.

Rick

I really like it, but I have one comment, don"t forget the PTO handle, the hand grip is black.

Jim

I like they way you did what you thought would be cool, even if the "correct Police" might object.

I saw one just like it the other day.

.....No, wait ...I'm mistaken ....I don't think there[b:512e87b4c4] is [/b:512e87b4c4]another one like it[i:512e87b4c4][/i:512e87b4c4]

Thanks guys....

Spoke with guy who did our hood/fender painting who has been doing this stuff for years. He said everything went great last....

Wasn't sure if it's possible to do this project any better, he said we should pull it outside and check it out in the sunlight, lol when it's done we will.

Already had someone in the shop doing the whole "correct police" thing, I wasn't there but I have to tell you as you guys ALL know. The level of this project is like non other, enjoy it fine, look at all you like BUT if you are going to tell us how much we did wrong.... seriously go build one YOURSELF.

We will be the PTO handle, considering wrapping it in black leather :)

Just want to thank you guys... it's fun sharing this with you guys.

Next friday night, my close friend (where the tractor is) is hosting a couples baby shower for us. So we invited all my close friends and family, nearly all knew my father. Will be nice because they will get to see the finished 560 project!

Getting close, few more little things BUT wow it's about done. Today going to run the front grill & new mesh over to local machine shop for some "work".
Oh and final batch of chrome parts due here tomorrow!!!

If I had that tractor and someone came to MY house and nit-picked MY work, I'd tell them to go suck an egg and get the h@#$ off my property. Some people I swear.

I make fishing lures on the side and sell them at sport shows. Every show, one or two ding-dongs come to the booth and pick up my wares just to make negative comments. I ask them where their hand crafted lures are and I'll come straight over to their booth so I can buy some real ones. They shut up and leave real quick.

That machine is 1000X better than anything that rolled off the factory floor. Again, it is a 2012 560! Awesome!

Colby coming along great keep up the good work, have you come up with the first show you are going to bring it to, I sure hope it is our Tractors For Charity in McHenry I know i sure want to see it and have been telling fellow collectors about it.

That thing is flat out beautiful. The only thing I would do different is lose the precleaner setup you have. A Donaldson or that type with the plastic bowl look really nice. It is your tractor though so do as you want! I just don"t think that setup does the rest of the tractor justice.

While some of what you have done may not be my "cup of tea" I and no one else can say what you have done isn't impecible and extremely detail oriented. If you are satisfied with your work that is all that really matters. Custom work has to be viewed and critiqued in a different light and cannot be compared to a straight "put it back to stock" job.

yes guys I'm already hearing it... why did you do that? that's not original? etc etc.

As much work as we put into this, I honestly don't care what anyone thinks at this point. If you don't know what your looking at, that's ok with me. LOL My gosh the physical paint cost of more than this tractor did new... careful eye can see the detail in the let alone the cost.

One issue I have had all along was the screen that goes behind the front grill, but I must say this stainless/chromed one we did looks amazing. :)

Air intake, I'm not changing it. It was how we had it all these years and it won't see right. :) (it's getting chromed though)

I'm betting the "correct police" do not allow runs, thin spots, etc on their own tractors like one from the factory would have been. I'd bet less than 5% of factory paint jobs came out perfect. Still If those people were judging a show, they would complain about the paint or something else not being right.
Keep up the great work, your father would be proud.

"correct police" yes you mean install everything, then paint it. lol

thanks... I will be the 1st to admit, never thought this tractor would turn into the level of quality. We have YET to take it outside, it could be totally done this friday night.

Dad would be SO proud...

Correct me if I'm wrong but the air filter will have a cover over it and not be seen for those who don't like it's looks.

The cover can be seen in this older post about the side step. http://forums.yesterdaystractors.com/ttforum/viewtopic.php?t=924254

You are getting the cover chromed? That will look nice.
