putting charlynn pump on left front side of M, doesn't seem to want to fit right to line up belt or bolt up to tractor etc, Any one have any pictures of the pump on the bracket and placement to the governor? or instructions for mounting, didn't get any with bracket or pump. As always thanks for you guys great help!

The one on mine uses the bolts on the outside of the governor cover to bolt on the bracket and the fan shroud was cut a little for clearance as the pump is outside just a bit,the bracket may bolt on the front of the block too i cant remember for sure.

This another option on a 400. A third option would be up near the head but I don't have a tractor like that.

Here's another. Hope these get you going. Don't let that drain cock throw you. There is suppose to be a hydralic hose connection there. I guess the prior owner didn't have anything else to plug the hole up with. I have some pictures of the mounted torque generator too. If you need to see those, let me know. Patrick

Lots of them mounted like Wardner pictured with a extra pulley in front of the regular crankshaft pulley. Fan spacers were used and fan housing was cut for clearance.
This pump pictured is mounted with a homemade bracket and the extra pulley and fan spacers used. Wanted to make a mount for pump to place it to run off the regular fan belt like some W series tractors in the mid fifties did. But finding a pulley the correct size and thinking the belt would need to be pretty tight because it would contact less than half the pump pulley changed my plans.

If the tractor has live hydraulic you can power the PS motor off if it. Just need a priority valve.

here are a couple pics of one mounted on an m. the generator bracket gets flipped over and re-drilled to raise it up, otherwise the belt will not clear the water neck. then the ps bracket gets mounted as in the photos. i sent you an email, shoot me one back and i'll send you all the char lynn manuals i have on the computer

couple more pics for ya. you wont need to cut the shroud or anything else for clearances on the m. the h, you needed to cut a hole in the hood for the pump resevior to clear

Glennster--How hard are those charlynn pumps and torque generators to work on. Mine was disconnected by its prior owner. So I assume something is broke down in the system. Would it be possible for you to send me a copy of those manuals also? I've never worked on anything hydralics, but I'm willing to learn.

I was going to toss the whole system out, but I've noticed here recently that on ebay those systems are being bid at a premium price, regardless of how ratty they look. So I guess I'll hang on to it and try to get it fixed somehow.

I can get by without the power steering when doing normal chores, but it sure is handy when loading that big "M" on a trailer.

Email-- [email protected]

TIA Patrick

patrick, the manuals are on the way!! there are parts breakdowns in the manuals with part numbers for you too. the torque generator is still available from eaton, steiners also sells them too if yours is beyond repair. the pump unit is from a 64 mustang i think, napa can get them for about 225.00

Got it Glenn. Thank you sir! Very helpful. You're DAAA man!!! Thanks for the heads up on NAPA and Steiners. Very interesting about the 64 Mustang. I'll have to check into that.
