I would make sure the engine or block is from a Super A or Super C. The later A's and C's had the 354898R91 block and they also had the 123cid instead of the 113cid block. All the Super A tractors had hydraulic's. The Farmall A's didn't. Hal

Most Super A's had hydraulics. But they all had a spot for the hyd. pump.

Depends on what shape it is in, if it comes with anything and how bad you want it. I paid $300 for my non-running B and I'll have another $200 in it total to make it run. It will need front tires but mine hold air. Rears are good but old. Tires make a big difference in price of something that is in need of something major.

If everything else on the tractor is crap plus the motor is shot, offer a little under scrap price or walk away. Might be a bunch of other stuff that needs to be replaced/repaired also. Most running Super As that I'm seeing listed for sale on this site, craigslist and ebay are going from $750 looking rough but running, $1200 to $2000 for what appears to be a decent tractor and then the sky is the limit for a really nice one - I guess what you can get for it. At least that is what they are asking, not what they are getting.

Go to Craigslist - Southeast Kansas section and search for farmall. He only wants $250 and said it runs. I should go get it just to have one for spare parts or put in another tractor. Only about 30 miles from me. Got enough to spend on my B at the moment though.

Surely there is something closer to you though.

Where is the block cracked if its not between the sleeves and just cracked behing the carb that crack can be repaired easy with rubber cement or JB weld or even fiberglass so wait untill you get the head removed before jumping out to get another block.

Depends on where you are located. There is a motor for an A for sale in Mt. Vernon, MO.
