Used a case to rake hay.

Was able to use a neighbors 30' wheel rake today hay is so thin here would have been out allday please rain, but anyway I am a diehard IH man but this rake had a 970 on it the power shift those case guys brag about is the jumpiest thing I ever drove, I will take the old TorQue amplifier anytime over it.

Yep, Those powershift case tractors really jump when you shift them- But, I always felt that if it jumps you when it shifted, it didn't slip- and I like that. It may be some shock load to the rear end, but the tractors I've been around handeled it just fine. But, I'd also say, at least the upshift on a hydraulic TA is pretty firm, too. I liked the power assist clutch on my cousin's 1570- once you got used to it, it was so slick. And the 3 gears to powershift up through is nice when pulling stuff on the road.

almost 30 years ago I plowed with a (yellow)1070 Case powershift.Biggest piece of junk/$h!+ I ever drove....Other Cases were just about as bad.I've since run tractors that were beat lots worse that were LOTS better.

The shift delay is adjustable on the mechanical hydralic power shift, problem is it varies with temperature so it takes some tweaking from like summer to winter operation. On the electric controlled models the pressure switch's control the dropping of one clutch and picking up the next.
