Cub Clutch/bent shaft

So I was splitting a friends cub to replace the rear main and when I was starting to put it back together I notice the shaft from the transmission appears to be slightly bent. How bent can it be and not be a problem? It will simply be a parade tractor and sit in a business. From top high to bottom low it is about 3/8"-1/2".

Thanks.

.010" would be the outside!! There is no joint in the shaft, it goes directly into the trans, as the maint input shaft. 351534R2 is the part number, I would have it straightened, or determine if it is the front trans bearing that may be remiss. If it is unsupported when you are "testing" it may not be bent at all, or it might be just slightly out. Support the pilot journal, and recheck. jim

The bent shaft will only cause more problems with more expensive gears etc. down the road, parade tractor or not. I would remove it & have a machine shop check it for straightness. I would also replace the pilot bearing (bushing) & the front tranny mainshaft bearing, and seal you don't want this shaft "wobbling" much at all.
