Those plastic caplugs work fairly well if you can find the correct sizes, otherwise just take some measurements and go down to your local napa, car-quest, etc., and get some freeze-plugs.

If you go to a hardware store they have plugs in different sizes that are spring loaded and all you do is push them in .If you need them out you can pop them out with a srewdriver.

I have a set for my H but I need the cast cover for the bottom. I believe the spring plugs mentioned would look original if you drilled the center and put in a rivet.

Do some looking at other spots on letter series tractors. I read a post a long while back (months) that talked about other places where the metal spring clip things were located. They are very rare to find blocking the hyd delete holes, but they are very common in the front bolster or something like that. I would guess if you give the junkyard a careful look you will see some. The other thing to do would be to find them in the parts book. I think the back has a lookup that will tell you all the pages that the part is found on. That should help you track down the alternate locations.

Info from old post. Salvage tractors that came equiped with metal ones can be found on ones that came without hydraulics. Also stage 2 SM clutch housings and SW6 with frame rails.
Also the most successful place to find is in the front bolsters for H&M to 350&450. Two are up inside the bottom of the bolsters where the posts go up. If you have a salvage yard near that junks the bolsters try to get the plugs first. Sometimes you can get them out from the bottom but not always. If there already in a dumpster I take a big sledge hammer and bust a hole in the posts. Then take a long rod to push out.
Also a 41 MD used the metal plugs.

That's the info I was thinking of. Thanks Slater!!!
