Just bought an International 544 Hydro with gas engine. The tractor looks good and starts right up but it will not move at all and no steering. The previous owner says that the left rear tire will not turn but I haven't got it home yet so don't know. I'm not familiar with these does anyone have an idea of what the problem might be? I usually work on Massey Fergusons. He said he changed the filters but no difference.

like pete 23 said, if the engine runs but you have no movement or hydraulics, the flex plate between the engine and pump has failed. not a big deal to fix but you do need to split the tractor.

Haven't got it home yet but thanks for he suggestions. I got it cheap so I can part it out and more than recoup my money there are 2 nice rear tires and rims and the motor runs great. Sheet metal is good and fenders are solid so I may tear into it.

Its a hydro and it doesnt move ! Well i hope you didnt pay to much for it because it costs a lot to fix a hydro transmission. It might be just a little fix or it could be a major over haul of the transmission and thats usually not worth the expense, not here in Ontario thats for sure. I think you need to take it to some one who knows about hydros ,good luck Erik..

What does rebuilding require for parts? I would not be afraid to attempt to do it myself. Got to get a good manual to begin, not an IT.

Does the pto work, and aux hydraulic valves. If none of that works, it has the splines out on the drive disc on flywheel. If they do work your problems are not as bad but would need more information.
