I believe some part numbers supersede.

I have not heard of any internal parts (new) being available. Used might be possible. Gears can be remanufactured (expensive). Bates Equipment might be a source. Making bushings, and matching bearings with stock numbers, is also possible. Jim

My manual steering needs to be fixed also, Haven't the time to start yet. Need to finish putting the 3pt on the JD 720 first. Good luck. There is a Company that makes conversion kits that might be of help. But I can't find their name. Hope someone else remembers.

Yes, his website is: http://jacksonpowersteering.com/

But I want to fix the 350 the same as factory.

The old roller ball bearings/races in the steering valve assembly are IH made I think. No aftermarket parts. That is what I have now and the races are rough. They made a change to roller needle/washers. Then stopped making the parts soon after. Wish I had the parts
specifications I would get a few made of new. I have notion to go and get them made. This is a great utility tractor.

A Wheatland (unless you changed the fenders), well worth fixing the steering. I don't think IH made any of their bearings, a good bearing place should be able to get them, including the races. This link, crossing to SKF should help -- it is 400+ pages and will take a while to load. The list is alphabetical, then numerical, the IH numbers will be labled as Navistar, may be faster to hit the end button on your computer and go through it backwards. Good luck with the rest.
Bearing cross

I looked up your bearing numbers with no success. SKF has only failed me a couple of times, the dealer was able to find a different brand. Another alternative is in the link below, may be worth trying.

Did that already on the same interchange, only get one hit: 368372R91 changes to NTA1625 which is highly available needle roller bearing. BUT ? This needle roller only helps if the tractor has the newer type races installed not thee older roller ball bearing races (grooves in races).

IH did make a lot of their own bearings, the plant was called West Pullman, a suburb of Chicago, WP was marked on them.

Yes, I have been in contact with Brian Kitch from Bates Corporation 1-800-248-2955.

He tells me they have fresh rebuilt Steering box s with the Power Steering option in stock and ready to be shipped.

Which is Great to see.

Price is more $ than what I paid for the 350 at auction this spring.

But a rare find always has tick.

Hi guys. I have a nice running 350U, with factory power steering, and the steering is broke. Let me share with you what I know. My 365954R91 bearing is junk. For those of you trying to help out by suggesting crossing it to a modern one, it cannot be done. This bearing is unique. It was made in sections in order to be assembled onto the shaft of that has two sector gears that are part of the shaft. In other words, you cannot slide a new bearing onto the shaft, even if you found one with the correct dimensions. FP smith comes up when you google the part #, but I called, and they have not had one in years, same with other hits that came up. The bearing was made special for IH by Mcgill bearing. Mcgill was bought by Emerson. Emerson is no help. they discontinued it years ago. This bearing was only used in a few models, and only on the power steering versions of those models. IH changed the design shrtly after. More bad news. Salvage yards will not sell you a used one, because they only want to sell you a complete steering box. Some even told me they want my old box with all parts as part of the deal. One place said if I send them my box, and $1050, they'd send me a good one. Another common item that breaks in these boxes is the 3 toothed "rack", part number 366178R1. There are a couple companies selling these, because they are having them made. One wants $250, and another wants $450! Just for a 3" long bar of steel with three teeth on it. More bad news. The aftermarket Jackson power steering for the 300 and 350U's uses a hydraulic cylinder on each side of the tractor to turn the wheels, but they have you leave the working manual box in place to keep the 2 wheels tracking together. But if your gears are broke, or not meshing because of the bearing failure like mine, your out of luck there. I emailed Jackson, asking if it could be done without a working steering gear. that was a month ago, and no response. I have a series of videos showing my attempt of saving this 350U. the last video is Part 26, where I quit because of the bearing issue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O66ZXJcbVoo
