I am hopeing someone can help -

I have a 806D with a Koyker K5 loader with a Bale Spear on it, I let a freind of mine use it to unload an Mower off of a trailer, while pulling forward he didnt notice the bale spear was digging into the ground and ran it into the ground, he wasnt going very fast.

Now the loader wont hardly lift without haveing the RPMs up and then it is slow. I run it about 3gal Over (I have always been told this is what you should do) I have put a new relief vale in it thinking that might be it but didnt change anything. The pressure only goes up to about 1600 lbs with a pressure gauge installed in line. Also when going from raise to neutral on the hydraulic lever it will sometimes drop and I have to catch it with the lever.

Does anyone have any idea why I cant get any higher pressure (should be 2300 from what I understand) and what is causing the loader to drop?

Any info would be appreciated

Took the pump off and the guy that had repaired the transmission had left the seal ring off of the pressure side of the pump, needless to say a new seal washer ring made it work like a brand new one.

Just because someone calls themselves a mechanic dont make them a good one.

1600PSI is the original factory setting.

I don't see how running the spear into the ground would've hurt the pump or any of the other internals on the tractor.

I suspect, like others, that he blew the piston seals in the arm cylinders.

The reason the loader goes up slowly now is because most of the oil is blowing straight through the cylinders.

1600 psi would be the original pressure setting for an 806. Different relief valves are available to increase that setting.

There are two ways to stop the load from dropping as the valve is moved. One is valve timing, where the port you are moving to opens before the return side does. this is not the best way as pressure starts to build before the return opens and if held in that position, the flow will dump over the relief valve and just build heat. Second, and the better way, is with "lift checks". with lift checks, the return is held with a pressure controlled check valve, where as the pressure comes up on the port being pressurized, a pilot flow opens the lift check. Either way will prevent the load from dropping when you move the valve. If yours is doing that now, my "guess" is a lift check is damaged some how.

Might have blown the piston seals on the lift cylinders. That would cause the loader to drift down. On your pressure question what was the pressure before the mishap?

I was wondering about the lift cylinders but didnt want to just start blindly - I have no idea what the pressure was before the incident, I didnt have a reason to check it but the lift worked fine before so I assume it was up to par.

It has good clean fluid and filter - everything else seems to work like it should.

I really cant afford to take it to Case/IH so Im hoping to resolve this on my own.

Would there be something in the aux lift valve that could cause it to drop when going from lift to neutral or do you think its a blown seal in one of the cylinders causing that part of the problem or both problems?
