Super A Front Rims.

The front tire and rim on my Super A finally gave out. The tire was getting bad and when I removed it from the rim I found that the rim was bad and someone had used duct tape on the inside of the rim.
So my question is; I have an older parts Farmall A that has good front tires and rims. The problem is the older rims are held on by wheel clamps and lug nut. The Super A rim has cast lugs that are riveted on the rim and they slip over the wheel studs and then the lug nuts are installed. Should I change out the cast spoke hubs and use the older style rim or should I use the tires and find a newer style rim? When did IH stop using the old style wheel clamps on the front rims?

On my A, used dounut tires from a car and clamps
held fine , maybe you can rivet the loops on. hope this helps stumper

They made both. Ones with the lug are adjustable on the hub for narrow fronts. But they sure put a ton of them on wide fronts. Dont know any answer for that except they just used what they had when they built the tractor. You can move your hubs from the other tractor and go to the clamp-on type or buy a used rim with the lugs from people like me or get a new blank rim and rivet the lugs on it. You can get new blank ones for 30 pluss shipping from T.H.E.Company you need a 3x15.

I would like to rivet my old lugs to the new rims. I'll drill out the old lugs and remove them. Set up should not be hard.
Where do you get the rivets?
Do I use my press or heat and hammer?
