Had one tucked away in the barn for many years. It looks like it has a 15-30 or 22-36 engine.a model p-300???the id tag is missing.anyway to date this thing???

Where are you located, and is it for sale? I have a 22-36 tractor that has a badly worn engine as it was a sawmill tractor. The wheel lugs are near like new as it never saw much drawbar work but the engine is totally worn out.

Rated at 56.5 maximum horsepower, the Model 300 power unit was identical to the engine used in the 15-30 McCormick Deering tractors. A total of 4987 units were built during 1929-1941 production run. All the unique features of the 15-30 engines were evident on this model. Supplied at extra cost was an optional direct-drive five-speed transmission.

If possible, could you post some pictures of it? There should be a serial number stamped on the engine, if you can find it, that will help to determine the exact year your power unit was made.
