I am going to put a set of split weights that I have on a 1466.What size bolts do I need?.If I put on two sets can I use one longer bolt? Thanks! |

| The cheaper & faster way is get 4 of 36" 3/4 nc std redi-bolt/threaded rod, saw them in half. The IH system was made of special grade 5 square head 3/4 nc bolts, if you were going to put 3 or more per side to make sure they wouldnt break in the field, it was a complicated mess because of odd length bolts. If they failed & break off tire valve core with 20.8x38 with fluid you have another mess. |

| Just measure the wts and the cast center add the figures and presto you will have the length thats what i do. |

I think the correct procedure for installing the first TWO sets is to use bolts long enough to pass through BOTH sets. |

| You are going to have one heck of a time getting both weights lined up on one bolt.
I got yelled at last time when I said the bolt lengths were in the parts manual, so don't read that. The parts books for 90% of the tractors you will ever own are online at the CNH website. |

| On my 1456 I used 9" bolts, I think, for 2 weights. I think 2" longer should hold another one. |
