We did get some done tonight, lots of little detail work.... close to getting it back running.

Though part of the day was it was 2yrs ago today that I lost my father, sudden unexpected heart attack in his sleep. Sad. I honestly do think of him daily.

Many ask why are you building such and OVER the top 560 or as some call it 2012 560, lol. Well answer is simple it's to honor my dad. Some may know the story, but a month before this passing we went and saw the Heritage Tractor Adventure in Hennepin IL and decide to re-do the 560 "right".

and I guess the rest is history, we start the project July 4th 2011, with goal of making my wedding in late Sept 2011, YEAH RIGHT, but it WILL be done before our 1st child is born in 7 weeks :)

thx for support.

Chad

She will have a new tractor to drive to school, it will be a 2012 560! She'd be proud to make memories with it. Great job on the re-invention of your father's tractor!

thx guys....

Nice to read your comments, vintage tractors sure do carry lots of memories. Weird to say but our 1st child, a new daughter who is due here in the next 7 weeks, wont experience that in her childhood like I did. But her dad could get her any NEW modern tractor to drive to "drive your tractor to school day", but she might want my ol' 560 you never know, lol.

You are doing a great job on the 560. I've been watching you're progress here and on your website and taking notes. I've located not just one but two of the 560's my Dad farmed with back in the 60's and a 6-row planter he used. Hopefully I'll get them soon.

I understand and honor your reason for making that 560 special.
My F-400 and f-560 is in honor of my Dad.
The 560 was the last tractor my Dad purchased new before Dying. And became my main tractor along with the 400 when I took over the farm as I was oldest and had two bothers and sister much younger then I and mother to support.
On a other note Colby ,Yes, the details are very time consuming and sometimes frustrating but the satisfaction is over the top also.
Good Luck, Tony

Looking great Colby. I see that yellow PTO cover
is gone.

I lost my father 13 years ago next Thursday. His
favorite tractor was his 460 he bought new. I was
going to redo it someday except in burned up in a barn fire about 6 years ago.

IaGary,
So sad to see your loss! Sickening to see beautiful Eq total loss.
Good part though is that you can find another and safe it from the scrapper and make it beautiful.

IaGary,

Oh, that is really sad. But the photo is neat. You should have saved part of the tractor for a little yard-art in a garden spot.

Hope you have gotten some rain.

My Dad was killed in a farm accident almost 20
years ago and I still think of him daily. My
brother stepped out of his combine two years ago
and passed away 30 minutes later. He had a very
nice 806 and 1066 that each of my nephews have as
a remembrance. They both get used some and go in a
few parades and tractor gathering and the topic of
my brothers passion for earlier red tractors comes
up.He had everything red or blue and we always had
JD and one day he traded for all green but those
two tractors.Red tractors and combines are making
a big comeback in our area.

I can sympathize with you Colby... my youngest brother would have been 59 today (7/27), but he died in a motorcycle accident a few years ago. But life goes on, one dies and another is born to fill the void... my nephew had a son almost exactly a year after his dad died, just as you will have a son or daughter to help fill the space in your life.

That 560 is going to be a fitting tribute to your dad when it's finished... it's really looking great, no matter what the "correct police" might say about the chrome and other non-original finished parts.

It's not over the top with those painted grease zerks. Go get a couple handfulls of brand new , kind of gold tone zerks, your 1/4 inch ratchet and long socket, and make all those links and rods pop!
