had brakes put on in Spring and right brake was slightly less effective but pretty good. Now the brake is no help at all no matter how hard it is pressed. Man who installed brakes is no longer available to help. Any thoughts on what problem [ and solution is?]

1. adjust the linkage. 2.if adjustment doesn"t work. there may be an oil leak on to the brake band, or 3. (unlikely) the brake band ma be worn down to the rivets. Good luck!

would be my guess oil leaked out on it if parked outside over years water leaks in over fills the trans. that's what happen to mine before i bought it or could be a simple adjustment...

Sound like the pin that holds the fixed end has slipped and you will need to remove final drive to see it and repair.

The brake drum/rotor/wheel could have come loose from the axle shaft.

Sometimes the set screw that holds it in place will fall out, the drum/rotor/wheel slides sideways, and the key falls out. It just spins on the shaft whenever you press the brakes.

Whatever's wrong, it has to come apart. Really it's no big deal. One cotter pin and six bolts, and the final drive comes right off.
