farmall h 6 row planter

In the middle 70's I took a Farmall 300 pulling a squardron hitch with a pair of four row bare bone either 56 0r 58 series planters (no fert. or other attatchments) on slightly rolling dry clay ground with no problems. At least high 2nd. gear. Near Danforth, Il. Armand

Assuming the JD planter is a trailing conventional till planter with no weight on it, yes. I have planted with a IH 444 and a mounted 4 row planter in 4 low at part throttle. Smaller and lighter than an H. A no till planter with disks, etc in front of the openers to get the trash out of the way, probably not. Planters without fertilizer tanks, etc usually do not take much HP to pull.

(quoted from post at 17:05:55 07/23/12) will an h pull a 6row planter jd 494 496 which #is correct no ferlizer boxes

I pulled a 495 4 row, fully loaded with fertilizer and insecticide boxes behind an H. 1st gear all the way. I think a 6 row would be way more than an H would want.
