Anyone know where I can get the data center fixed or replaced on my 1586. The RPM"s don"t work, the exhaust gas temp starts at 300 and counts up by ten each second, the PTO rpm says 0, and the tractor speed works fine in road gear but once it gets down to less that 6 miles an hour it stops working as well.

Any ideas?

With your symptoms I would not automatically decide the problem is with the data center.

The engine speed and PTO speed both rely on the sensor reading the flywheel ring gear teeth. Check the sensor for continuity. It should not be an open circuit. Someone else may chime in with an average ohm reading for a good sensor.

The Speed signal is an indication of a weak sensor, adjusted too far from the gear, or too much resistance in the wiring or connectors.

The exhaust temperature readings could also be a poor connection or a bad sensor in the manifold.

Have sent several to a place called AgTronics, in Grand Island NE. Good work and reasonable rates. Fast turnaround too.

Try plugging/ unplugging the connector & see if there is corrosion/ crustatia on any of the pins. It is probably the 5 volt regulator IC on the board that is suspect. Could be the LM 317T IC also bad or a loose solder joint.

Call the local CaseIH dealer. They may be able to steer you in the right direction.

There was a place here in Cedar Rapids Iowa that worked on them but I think they closed up.

Most places that fix planter monitors can fix them.
