I spent most of yesterday putting it together the rest of the way and in the evening tried to hand crank it to start, quit when it got too dark. This morning I pull started it with my H out in the hay field where there is plenty of room and it ran well. The gov to carb linkage must not be right because I had no throttle control but I was able to test out the TA, IPTO and fast hitch and all seemed to be working as they should. Tonight I will retorque the head and fidget with the throttle. Zach |

| | Excellent! Good to hear you got the ol' gal running with a little elbow grease and a few bucks. Very useful for the money. |

| No sign of the noise that caused the previous owner to park it? |

| I am pretty sure that was caused by the fact that the splines were completely stripped out of the pressure plate and half gone from the IPTO drive shaft. I got replacement parts from D Slater and put it all together and there were no bad noises, thankfully. Zach |

| Thank you very much for your help. Yes, the clutch felt good to me. I will know better once I am able to use the throttle and try out 4th and 5th gears. I wasn't able to adjust it quite as you had said because the pressure plate has a center hole with splines that run the IPTO so there was not a way to measure directly from the fingers to the flywheel surface. I just checked that they were the same height above the surface I was able to see and decided that would have to do. I was able to follow the detailed step by step instructions on how to adjust the main clutch and TA clutch linkages and that seems to have worked out well, the TA operates very easily and smoothly. I am sure I will keep having more questions to ask as I get closer to having it all back together. Zach |

| As recently mentioned in a post about an M, re-torque the head immediately after running it for a little bit. Dont wait or you will be replacing the head gasket again! |

| Thanks, I will be doing it tonight. I ran it for about 4 or 5 minutes, just long enough to drive it back from the field to the shed. I did the head gasket on my H two years ago and have had good luck with that so far, so I'm hopeful that this will turn out okay too. Zach |
