| seeking bearing #

I've got a 1943 Farmall H and I have to replace the transmission countershaft front ball bearing (p/n ST 246, bearing #IH-GC-230). Does anyone have the crossover part number for Timken or SKF? Want a good quality bearing, just trying to avoid the premium at the Case-IH dealer. Thanks.

| Not necessarily true, IH did make some of their own bearings. And far as I know can only get them from dealer. Now patents or such may have run out so all are available as after market options now.

| Could be, but I haven't found one yet I couldn't cross. They will all fit, there may be some differences in the numbers of rollers or balls. Also have to be careful if IH had one side covered, etc.

| If you've got it out take it to you're local bearing house, they can cross it or match it and probably get you back in the game
