gear oil ????300 utility with T/A

the book i have says 10wt motor oil and add torque amplifer addative ,the oil i removed is a light tan color ,i was going to fill er up with 7 gals of new 90 wt gear oil ? my 300 utility no t/a had gear oil in it and worked fine though looked a bit black ,is the 10wt oil correct ??thanks

The 10w oil and additive is what was used before IH
developed the HY -Tran fluid when they came out with
the 60 series(460-560 etc) so you use HY-TRAN now
days. Heavy gear lube and TA's don't get along well
and that additive that was used with the 10w oil has
been discontinued for many, many years.

Hy-Tran is what you need for the TA to work properly.

You say your 300 has no TA if that so 90 wt gear oil is fine. If it had a TA you would use CaseIH HY-Trans oil.

ok no gear oil with the t/a thanks ,ill put the hy-grd back in
