thinking about some Redpower

hello everyone,

I've been looking at getting a bigger tractor (60-90 HP) for my farm. I do conventional till wheat and soybeans. I have a Ford 960 that i like and a JD 2010 that I also like but parts are way too spendy for my taste.

There are a few IH/Farmalls near me for sale.
Including a 706, 806, and a 574. All are less than $5000. Other than the TA are there any issues I should look for specific to these models?
Will the 574 give me anymore power than my Ford 960?

thanks everyone,

paul

Gas? Diesel?

In my opinion the 806 couldn't be beat. If those are your hp requirements the 806 is probably a little bit of an overkill. I'd do it anyway and it will do anything you ask of it.

You wouldn't be happy with the 574, horsepower is below your lower limit. Either the 706 or 806 will fit the bill. Gas or diesel, get the diesel because both of the '06s will suck the gas down under heavy load, I know because I own a 706 gas.

If you don't like the price of the parts for that Ford 960, then you just won't be happy with any of them, but given the choice, I would go with the 806. It will work circles around either your Ford or the John Deere 2010.
